Cancun: all tourist niches already activated only in the absence of weddings

Cancun has reactivated all the markets that involve tourism except for weddings, a segment of great importance for the Mexican Caribbean that moves more than 90 thousand of these events with thousands of participants each year (The Mexican Caribbean runs out of weddings due to the lack of protocols).

Marisol Vanegas, Secretary of Tourism of Quintana Roo, has warned that the wedding niche has not yet issued the necessary protocols to reactivate this activity that gives a strong boost to tourism in the Mexican Caribbean.

Likewise, the fairs and exhibitions have already reactivated most of the segments and between now and the remainder of the year, Cancun has already scheduled more than 25 events, with weddings as great absenteeism, the authorities emphasize.

At the moment, and according to the epidemiological traffic light in Quintana Roo, weddings can be held with a maximum capacity of 50 people. Until this segment issues a protocol as most tourist niches have already done, the Mexican Caribbean will not be able to carry out larger weddings.
